Two masked gunmen opened fire on a grocer’s store owned by a Coptic citizen in the North Sinai city of Rafah on Tuesday (September 25) a few days after he had received a message threatening him that his property will be attacked if failed to leave the city within 48 hours.  
Reactions varied over President Muhammad Mursī’s visit to the city of al-‘Arīsh on Saturday (October 6), which was paid under tight security measures, while Coptic families in Rafah denied media reports about a meeting with Mursī.
Unknown individuals distributed a statement believed to be from Ansār Bayt al- Maqdis  in some areas of Shaykh Zuwayyid and Rafah in North Sinai. They requested the residents to stand by them and support them until God’s justice is implemented. 
Security sources in North Sinai governorate have revealed that the number of killed Takfirī extremists have reached 25. They were killed during the security operation that started by the army on Thursday.

General Sāmih Bashādy, security director of North Sinai, stated that the search for two of the Coptic citizens, kidnapped in ‘Arīsh, is ongoing. Several campaigns have been made to try to find them.
