The Egyptian Centre of Democracy Studies: “The number of prisoners in Egypt does not exceed 7000”

Human Rights activist Dāliā Zayāda, administrator of the Egyptian Centre of Democracy Studies said that Human Rights Watch resorts to false and inaccurate data to support its view on the human rights situation in Egypt, adding that these data are propagated by the terrorist organization Muslim Brotherhood. She also added that the allegations made by Human Rights Watch on arbitrary arrests taking place in Egypt are false, and that they are impossible to be carried out under the new Constitution and current legislation since the Emergency Law in Egypt was abrogated and all arrests must be registered by the police.
