Background:
These interviews revolve around the places that the Holy Family (Jesus and Virgin Mary and their companions) passed by in Egypt. One of these places is known for its miracles throughout the years. Mainly these historical events are documented in an Italian book in the Coptic Church. It was made by some priests and members of the church.
Side A:
In ʾIhnāsyā, Deacon ʾIlyās Rashīd mentions that the holy family might have passed through it. It is said that there might be some churches buried due to an earthquake in the 13th century. Also Majdī Wahīb Edward, a member in the church in ʾIhnāsyā, agrees with Rashīd. He also adds that Jesus drank from the well. He adds that this place is miraculous (Al Jārnūs Monastery). It's an ancient place. For instance 2 men in 1983 didn't believe it to be miraculous and they fell. On the feasts people visit this place especially on the 21st of August. Father Shinūda mentions that there are manuscripts that prove that there were 1200 monks that followed Bishop Kyriakos in Bahnasa in the Middle Ages till the Christians were exposed to persecution and the place was left. A manuscript that goes back to the 7th century was found and it had information that the Holy Family stayed in this place for 4 days. They drank from the wells.
It is believed that in Bahnasa, Jesus lied next to a tree which is now considered to be a sacred place. In Samalūṭ, Jebel Al Tayr is a place that people receive the blessing from. The journey of the Holy Family started in Al Maṭariya, then ʾIshnīn to Dayr al Jarnūs Monastery. They then continued to Bahnasa then to Al Tayr; the end of the journey was Al Maḥraq Muḥarraq Monastery, ʾĀssyūṭ. On 21st August, 4 pm the holy family went to ʾIshnīn and Jesus drank from the well as the water level increased and on this same date every year the exact same thing happens.
Side B:
Majdī Fārūq Ḥannā, a Coptic Orthodox Christian, from ʾIshnīn continues to speak facts about the holy family and the events that occurred in the aforementioned places. He explains that ʾIshnīn means the city of praying. As the water level increases annually August 21 on a specific date ever year (the day the family visited the place and Jesus drank from the well), it has been witnessed that they used to estimate the Nile level from this well. Mar Jirjis (St. George) Church is an archaeological building that was founded centuries ago. The remains of Father Mīkhāʾīl Al Behirī, the student of Bishop Abrahm the first, has been brought to that church for people to gain his intercession. Miracles occurred because of his intercession. For example, people who cannot have children have their problem solved.
