We would like to welcome you to our forum meeting, “The Libyan Tragedy: what’s happening and why is it happening?” with Prof. Abdallah Schleifer. Organized by our interns and staff, Prof. Schleifer will during the lecture shed light on current events unfolding across Libya and their causes.

Prof. Schleifer is a veteran American journalist covering the Middle East and professor emeritus at the American University in Cairo. In addition, he has served as Al Arabiya Washington D.C. bureau chief; NBC News Cairo bureau chief; Middle East correspondent for Jeune Afrique; as special correspondent (stringer) at the New York Times, and managing editor of the Jerusalem Star/Palestine News in then Jordanian Arab Jerusalem.

The forum is hosted on September 10, at 7pm in the Center for Arab-West Understanding in Maadi located on the fourth floor of nr. 90 on 14b Street, lying just off Midan Sawares.
