Military Action is Not the Only Way to Fight IS: Background to my article on the Op Ed page inTrouw of January 7, 2016.
Following our interview with Egyptian Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Salah I published an article in the Dutch Daily Trouw explaining that the fight against IS must also be fought in ideological terms.
This article was well received by several of our Dutch church contacts who believe that only talk about military action and carrying this out is not going to root out the problems we are facing with IS. The Trouw Op-Ed editor responded that this article represents a point of view that is rarely heard in the Netherlands (and probably other Western countries).
