Egyptian President ‘Abd al-Fattāh as-Sīsī reportedly reviewed a proposal that would achieve reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood but rejected it after it was met with negative responses among many politicians in both the government and the Brotherhood. The proposal came weeks after Muslim Brotherhood leader Doctor Muhammad al-Badī ̔ delivered a speech during his trial in which he praised the Egyptian Judiciary, and after Former President Muhammad Mursī requested a secret meeting with the leaders of the armed forces.
