Saudi Arabia’s grand mufti of 25 years is dead, but his Islamic missionary efforts will continue via his extensive writings and an Internet web page.
In an interview with the Muslim intellectual Dr. Abdullah Saleh Al-Obaid, Secretary General of the Islamic World Association, he said that Muslims and Christians in the Islamic East cooperate and live in peace since the rise of Islam.
The Saudi government has established a special ministry for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Islamic Propagation and Guidance to supervise Islamic activities and daawa [mission] work and look after the affairs of mosques. It is the newest addition to Saudi Arabia’s institutions that serve Islam.
