Hāttim Anān, brother of General Sāmi ‘Anān, former Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, stated that he is holding negotiations with some of the heads of the Sufī orders to support his brother in the forthcoming parliamentary elections (Alī Kamāl, al- Shurūq, Aug 5, p. 3).
