On 5 February 2025, the Second Criminal Chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance handed down sentences totalling more than 700 years' imprisonment to the defendants in the “Instalingo” case, a veritable judicial saga marked by grotesque twists and turns. This trial seems to foreshadow a series of fabricated ‘conspiracy against state security’ trials aimed at repressing the peaceful opposition, which is now being massively impounded. Immediately after the announcement of this short verdict, Qaīs Saʿīd released a long video in which he parades through the ministries, multiplying his fiery diatribes against the ‘traitors’ he accuses of plotting against him.
