The bishop responded

to an article written in

Al-Akhbar of June 29, 1997, written by Kamal Zakher Musa, who suggested that

the church in Egypt was

involved in deceit, and questioned the consecration and age of new bishops. Bishop

Musa explains that believers

cannot be left without bishops, that the general bishopric is not a new

phenomenon and that men in their thirties

are in their age of productivity and have spent at least seven to

10 years in a monastery. Responding to Kamal

Zakher Musa’s criticism of church trials, Bishop Musa also

explains when and how people can be punished.
