El-Sha’ab of July 18, accuses Dr. Saad el-Din Ibrahim’s Ibn Khaldoun center of asking for federalism, democracy and civil community as a solution to the problems of minorities. El-Sha’ab quotes Dr. William Suliman Qilada, a Christian counselor arguing that Christians in Egypt have only survived through the ages because they have been loyal to their country, and stating that foreign intervention, as has happened in other countries in the Middle East, would only lead to increasing tensions.
