Youssef Sidhom gives an example of how the decree of the ten conditions issued by Ezabi Pasha (the Hamayouni law) affects the relations between the applicants for building churches and the state system through presenting a case history of one recent church building projects in Shubra Al-Kheima. He concludes: ’Some of those who apply these laws that kill equality between Egyptians enjoy imposing their power and guardianship. They master ways of controlling and humiliating. These are the fruits of applying the ten conditions.’
