Egyptian authorities tightened their control over the situation in the northern Upper-Egyptian village of Al-Ayyat following the clashes that took place between Muslims and Copts leaving five persons injured. The local authority managed to end the dispute between the village inhabitants which could have led to sectarian violence. While the prosecution started investigating the causes of incidents which came contrary to the atmosphere prevailing in Egypt during Ramadan as local media outlets bring forward scenes of gatherings of Muslim scholars and Coptic Christian clerics.
