“Orientalism” is a field of

research conducted by the West in modern times, especially in the last two centuries during the

colonial era and the era of liberation. This kind of research discloses more about the mentality

of the researcher than the topic researched. Orientalism focuses its study on the East, which is

why it is often confused with the term Islamic and Arab studies. Orientalism passed through four
