On June 29-30, the Ibn Khaldoun Center for Developmental Studies held a conference to discuss reform in Egypt and the region. The conference was attended by members of the American and the Israeli embassies as well as representatives of USAID. During the conference, participants expressed their opinion about Iraq, citing it as the model that should be followed in the region. The conference also attacked Islamic fiqh [jurisprudence].
