A letter recommending the work of the Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translation, Arab-West Understanding and Arab-West Report from Youhannā Qulta, Coptic Catholic Deputy Patriarch.
[Dr. Mgr. Youhannā Qulta is Coptic Catholic Deputy Patriarch] I sincerely appreciate and recommend the work of the newly established Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translations (CIDT) that has become the publisher of Arab"“West Report (AWR). I have been, for many years, an advisor to this initiative because I fully support their aims.
The material that they have published over the last few years in Arab-West Report and which they are preparing to make accessible in their Electronic Documentation Center is a very helpful tool to foster dialogue between the Arab world and the West.
On several occasions, I have witnessed that special reports published in Arab-West Report were able to clarify issues and calm tensions between Muslims and Copts.
The English Arab-West Report aims at presenting a realistic picture of the discussions going on in the Arab world.
I only wish that the precious material Arab-West Report offers would be presented to Arabic readers as well, because I am convinced it will have a positive impact, making Egyptians and Arabs more open to dialogue with people of other cultures.
Development is only possible and poverty can only be reduced if people live together in peace and harmony.
