tourists, including three Norwegians and two Swedes [Reviewer: No names mentioned] have been

accused of blasphemy

on their holiday in Egypt for circumambulating a statue of a mermaid located in a town

square in Hurghada, in an

attempt to parody Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca. The tourists were initially held on

charges of indecent conduct, but

were later accused of blasphemy by Hurghada’s public prosecutor.
