A memorandum was sent from Alexandria to Coptic Pope Shenouda III about the second marriage issue. 

The Copts of Alexandria submitted a memorandum to Pope Shenouda containing some important suggestions with regard to the crisis of second marriage to be added to the new personal status law.

Joseph Malāk, the church’s lawyer in Alexandria, states that the church does not allow the absolute second marriages to prevent adulterers from benefiting from their sins.
