The National Democratic Party made a controversial decision to exempt Coptic and female members from a ban that was put on all organizing members on running for parliament. One member called the exemption "unacceptable". Ahmed Ezz announced he would be looking over the electoral center himself. A female member of the party has accused the party's Secretary for Beheira of deliberately not telling her when to apply.
