Salafī activists from Cairo and Alexandria plan what they described as a “huge stand” in protest of the alleged detention of Kāmīliyā Shihātah by the church. They demand Kāmīliyā be handed over to the attorney general and for monasteries to be searched for weapons. One of the activists says that the group does not support the Muslim Brotherhood because they have made it clear that they have no intention of transforming Egypt into a religious state.
