The church denied the Pope is doing I<sup>c</sup>tikāf and claim his absence from the 6th October celebrations in Ismailia today was health related. They assured he would however be giving his weekly sermon at the <sup>c</sup>Abbasiah next Wednesday and two lectures in Alexandria next Friday. The Pope received a visit from Dr. Muhammad Mikkāwī, head of the Egyptian community in the Netherlands, to discuss his visit to the Netherlands later this month.
