Self-declared head of the Baptist Church, Butrus Falta‘ūs, said that the Anglican communion’s denial of the Baptist congregation’s legitimacy is against the law and that only the state has the authority whether or not to recognize communities. He supports the claim by speaking of the presidential decision to recognize the congregation in 1990 and the fact that they have many churches around Egypt.
