In an interview with al-Yawm al-Sābi^c, Egyptian scientist and American resident Dr. Rushdī Sa‘īd said that he does not approve of the Church’s role in Egyptian politics. He said that the church is a religious organization and that Copts should instead get involved in politics by joining political parties. He also said that he supports the Muslim Brotherhood’s right to enter the elections, yet does not believe they will ever rule Egypt.
