With the assistance of two Facebook groups, protestors organized demonstrations after Friday prayers yesterday outside the Nūr Mosque in ‘Abbāsiyyah and Nājī Mosque in Alexandria. They demanded the release of Kāmīlīyā Shihātah and shouted slogans such as “Egypt is an Islamic country,” along with other chants against Pope Shenouda III. They also accused the church of hiding weapons.
