Al-Bājis says that, despite the American and Zionist agenda, national unity in Egypt remains as strong as ever. Throughout the article, he points to the evidence of the solid bond between Egyptian Muslims and Copts, from celebrating mawlids for saints to visiting each other’s holy sites to historical studies about the French invasion of Egypt. He calls for a PhD thesis by Dr. ‘Ā’ishah Shukr on national unity in Egyptians to be adopted by the Egyptian Book House.
