A premature electoral battle is developing in Matruh as the National Democratic Party announces its four candidates. For the first time in Matruh’s history, one independent Copt and three political parties (al-Ghad Party, the Progressive National Unionist Party and the New Wafd Party) will all compete against the National Democratic Party for the same parliamentary seat.
