Investigations in the Qena case show that owners of the burned down houses do not suspect Muslims to be responsible for the fire which took the whole neighborhood by surprise. Qena Security Director ‘Ādil Mahnā said that, despite everything being back to normal, security forces and firefighters are still present in the village for precautionary reasons. Bishop Kyrillos of Naj‘ Hammādī blamed the Qena security and executive forces for the recurrence of sectarian violence.
