The head of the Egyptian Organization for Defending Policemen and Citizens, Samīr al-Shishtāwī, filed a report to the Attorney General against the Coptic Diaspora, accusing them of plotting Wednesday’s riots with the intentions of harming national unity. Al-Shishtāwī urged the Attorney General to immediately try everyone involved in “this terrorist attack against Egypt." He also said that the riots revealed the extent of the Coptic Diaspora’s involvement in local affairs.
