The Committee on Citizen Culture and Human Rights, one of the Supreme Council for Culture’s longest standing committees, issued a statement saying that everyone responsible for creating and escalating the recent incidents in ‘Umrāniyyah should be held accountable. The committee also called for the controversy surrounding the building of churches to be solved as soon as possible and for the release of the young Copts arrested in the riots.
