Participants of the "Christian-Muslim Brotherhood" international conference in Damascus say that "there is no danger to Christians in the East." Rather, they say that the danger to Christians actually comes from the West and particularly "from the policies of the major powers."

The participants blamed the occupation of Iraq for the terrorist acts against mosques, churches, and Shī‘ah holy places.

The conference recommended that internal Muslim-Christian affairs be dealt with and resolved through dialogue and joint action that is free from any foreign intervention.
