Fātin discusses an incident between the Azhar and the Egyptian government where the Azhar issued a request for the state to pay for the medical treatment of former Azhar University president Dr. Ahmad ‘Amr Hāshim, who is currently a member of the Azhar's Islamic Research Academy.

Various Azhar leaders such as Jamāl Qutb, Dr. Ahmad al-Sāyih, and Dr. ‘Abd al-Mun‘im al-Birrī criticize Ahmad Nazīf’s government’s refusal, especially since the government pays for the treatment of various ministers and entertainers.

Jamāl Qutb said that the state that pays for the medical treatment of its ministers and belly dancers, yet refuses to do the same for scholars such as Ahmad ‘Amr Hāshim is only cursing itself.
