Ansār al-Sunnah al-Muḥammadiyyah has apologized for the fatwá that calls for killing of Muhammad al-Barād‘ī, head of National Front for Change. The fatwá was issued by Shaykh Mahmūd ‘Āmir, one of the group's members.

The statement issued by the group calls ‘Āmir's fatwá "abnormal and suspicious," saying that it is against religion and announcing that the group will soon take action against ‘Āmir.
