On Wednesday, April 6, Minister of Religious Endowments al-Husīnī held a meeting with preachers, imāms and Islamic leaders. He condemned acts of religious extremism during times of lacking security. In order to counter extremist ideas, the Ministry plans to launch a campaign against crimes committed in the name of Islam. This includes the establishment of a satellite channel, promoting religious moderation and the assignment of senior shaykhs and imams, meeting people and holding seminars on a peaceful Islam.
