During a seminar held on Monday April 25, 2011, Muslim Brotherhood spokesperson ‘Isām al-’Iryān emphasized the importance of diversity in Islamic discourse and called those attacking Islamic movements “Islamophobes, Ikhwanophobes and Salafiophobes.”

‘Isām al-’Iryān accused the public of willingly misunderstanding Islamic movements, and “dragging [them] into the wrong fights."

During the same seminar, Salafi Preacher Muhammad Hasān accused the media of being biased and following its own political agenda.
