Following a six hour closed-meeting on May 22, 2011, Christians and Muslim clerics participated in the conciliatory meeting in Ayn Shams. The results of the meeting including things such as maintaining the present situation as is with the church, unless the church can present proof that the factory was previously a church, and had in fact been shut down to be converted into a factory. 

Al-Misrī al-Yawm, page 3, May 23, 2011,  reported that it has been agreed upon for the church to be built, but without a dome or crosses.
