Watanī newspaper has published a complaint by a Christian policeman of the name Midhat Hannā Jirjis, who lives in Banī Bakhīt, Beni Suef governorate and works for the Beni Suef Security Department.
In his complaint, Midhat says that he was accused of quitting his duty post one hour before his colleague arrived to start his shift at the Department headquarters. He said he was placed under custody for 45 days from January 9, 2011 to February 24, 2011.
He noted that during the January 25 revolution incidents he fainted inside his cell after inhaling much tear gas and his leg was broken as many inmates escaped the prison cells and that he was carried by his brother so he may get treatment.
Midhat added that since those incidents he remained home and afforded his own treatment expenses. However, he noted, he has received a six-month imprisonment term by the military court for policemen.
