The Egyptian ministry of information on September 13 issued a statement to indicate facts regarding a decision to close down the office of Aljazeera Mubāshir Egypt TV after channels belonging to the Doha-based news network have been publishing false news about Egypt.

Some of the Egyptian mass media have published these news reports incorrectly without observing accuracy to maintain the state's higher interests and sovereignty, the ministry statement read.
