Al-Wafd competes for all seats and El Kotla El Masreya (Egyptian bloc) is running on all electoral lists.

The parliamentary candidate registration closed yesterday amid congestion during the last hours of registration. Candidates of the Muslim Brotherhood accounted for 57 percent of the electoral lists of the democratic coalition after the withdrawal of about 22 parties, mostly Islamic, from the coalition.
