Additionally, Ahmad Shafīq, presidential hopeful, said that the parliament’s control over the constitution panel threatens the stability of the state, balances of authorities and affect the executive and judicial branches of government.

“The withdrawals from the constituent assembly is normal because political and intellectual elite will not agree to be used to pass a constitution that does not reflect the whole society,” Shafīq said.
