The Maspero Youth Union (MYU) and the staff of al-Katībah al-Tībīyah (Theban Legion) magazine held regal commemoration over the death of His Holiness Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III at the St. Mark Cathedral in the Cairo district of al-‘Abbassīyah.

The Coptic Orthodox Church decided to expand the burial place of Pope Shenouda and turn it into a museum at the Monastery of Saint Bīshūy in Wādī al-Natrūn to put on display all the personal belongings of the deceased prelate, expecting thousands of Pope Shenouda’s fans to pour into the site.
