Meanwhile, Counselor Māhir Sāmī, Vice President of the Supreme Constitutional Court and its official spokesman, discredited statements by a lawmaker to the media that the court’s commissioners’ panel gave a constitutional thumbs up to amendments of the law on practicing political rights, known as the political disenfranchisement law.
