Coptic Orthodox Synod of Alexandria is meeting with Bishop Pachomius, Coptic Orthodox acting Patriarch, to stress their rejection for bishops candidacy in the Coptic Orthodox papal elections, adding that the next pope should be from monks.

A church source said that the Coptic Orthodox appeal committee will end examining appeals on Monday, September 10, 2012 and will refer names to the Coptic Orthodox Holy Synod on Wednesday, September 12.
