Life in Egypt today, especially following the 25th of January 2011, consists of seasons and in our Egyptian colloquial language a season is a specified, limited period involving certain events (by the word season the author means a particular issue that draws all people’s attention and dominates discussions). 

Seasons in Egypt are many, there is the season of the “battle of the Camel,” the season of the “Felul” (former regime remnants), the season of the “deep state,” the season of “ikhwanisation” of the state (Muslim Brotherhood’s efforts to establish its hegemony over Egyptian life and institutions), and the season of “the army and the people are one hand”. The latest season Egypt has seen is the season of “contempt for religions”. In examining the reasons, we never reach one, single conclusion based on clear information. The outcome is always further doubt and more obscurity. Nothing would prevent a season from achieving the opposite goals and interests than originally intended.
