Numerous newspapers decided not to have an issue for several days protesting the Constitutional Declaration and final draft Constitution announced by President Muhammad Mursī in November 2012. From these newspapers: al-Misrī al-Yawm, al-Shurūq al-Jadīd, al-Watan, al-Sabāh, al-Tahrīr, al-Yawm al-Sābi', al-Dustūr, al-Wafd and al-Ahrār. It is expected that also the weekly newspapers will do the same, namely: al-Ahālī, al-Isbū' and al-Fajr.
