In a meeting with French Ambassador Nicolas Galey and the French delegation accompanying him, the Grand Shaykh of The Azhar, Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyīb stated that he is confident that the Egyptian people will surpass the actual crisis. The meeting that took place on Wednesday, December 19, tackled issues on ways to enhance the relations between the Azhar and France’s cultural, religious and scientific institutions and organizations.
Further, the Grand Shaykh stressed that the Azhar body, including all his institutions, lives the pulse of his country and the Arabic and Islamic nation. He added that he keeps pace with the changes that occur every day on the internal and exterior scene, wishing steps toward stability and development would be faster, as Egypt urgently needs to establish its new renaissance, which also requires a stable constitution that befits Egypt’s historical civilization and leading role in the region.
