Investigation judges Tharwat Hammād, Ahmad Ismā'īl and Dīyā' Hassanayn accused Meunier that he and Father Philopater Jameel of the Virgin Mary Church in Faysal district, according to investigations gathered by the Military Police, met with protesters at Hilton Ramsīs Hotel on October 6 and gave them money three days before the Maspero incidents.

Meunier denied the charges of incitation and said he did not give money to anyone.

"I met with fellow Copts to organize a peaceful march in protest against the demolition of the al-Mārīnāb Church in Aswan but in the same time I have warned against resorting to any acts of violence," he replied to the prosecutors' charges.
