Dr. Yūsuf al-Qaradāwī, head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, on Tuesday (January 1), said that Egypt is back to the Egyptians after the Revolution, stressing that “the day came where I can enter the mosque, surrounded by the political power and the Governor”, addressing so Muhammad Abū al-'Ilá Qabīl, director of Endowments in al-Mahallah. In his lecture which he delivered during the meeting in the Qādūs Mosque of Mahallah in Gharbia Governorate, Shaykh al-Qaradāwī called for the Egyptian people to unify their ranks. Further, al-Qaradāwī congratulated the Egyptian Christians on the occasion of Christmas, saying, “No objection to congratulate them on their festivals; it (congratulation of Non-Muslims on their festivities) is the righteousness as Islam teaches us”. For his part, Judge Muhammad al-Qādir, Gharbia Governor addressed the podium in elegy to al-Qaradāwī as striver for the word of Allah, and the “Imām of the world and successor of (Prophet Muhammad) the Messenger of Allah.” In the same vein, members of youth and revolutionary movements in the city have formed human chains to protest the visit of the Shaykh and set fire to posters showing his picture.
