Churches and Coptic organizations welcomed  the Administrative Court’s verdict to halt the parliament elections.

Dr. Safwat al-Bayādī, head of the Coptic Evangelical Church, said that holding the elections came to the general interest and will calm the state of tension in the streets. 

For his part, Hānī al-Jizayrī, founder of “Copts for Egypt’ movement, warned from circumventing the judiciary verdicts and terrorizing the judges by the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic movements (Rānīyā Nabīl, al-Sabāh, Mar. 8, p. 5). Read original text in Arabic.
