A conference on the position of minorities in Egypt is currently underway, the largest of its kind under the Muslim Brotherhood government. Organized by the Coptic group "Middle East forum for liberties", and headed by Majdī Khalīl, over 70 academics and researchers specializing in minorities will present papers and research alongside representatives of Egypt’s minority groups' rights such as the Copts, Bedouins, Shī'ah, Bahā’īs, Nubians and women activists (Mustafá Rahūmah, al-Watan, Mar. 24, p. 5). Read original text in Arabic.
