A number of political powers and youth movements have called on every Muslim in the Governorate of Beni Suef to come out and participate in a huge march after Friday prayers to demand the return of the girl. According to a movement of al-Wāstá's youth, which includes dozens of youth and activists, these voices are threatening to hold a sit-in outside of the church until the girl is returned. They are also threatening to close the doors of all the churches and shops owned by Copts. This will disrupt the trade that exists between Muslims and Christians and will create a great depression in the city.
Copts have demanded that the Director of Criminal Investigations responds quickly to the crisis. The director asked Copts to open their shops again, but they have fearfully refused to do so because of the absence of the necessary security to offer them protection (Ashraf Mustafá, al-Tahrīr, Mar. 22, p. 9).
